In The Zone '98 was released on February 16, 1998 for the Playstation 1 and Nintendo 64. It was developed and published by Konami --- Konami had a lot of sports games during the PS1 era, including Bottom of the 9th, NHL Blades of Steel '99, and International Superstar Soccer.

We normally wouldn't bother with this game, but for some reason, this is a game I played -a lot- when I was younger. It's refreshing to find out that it still holds up pretty well --- at the very least, as well as you can expect a basketball game on the PS1 to hold up.

There are certain genres that tend to age very well (turn-based RPGs, 2D fighters), and certain genres that tend to age poorly (3D Action games, first-person shooters) --- 3D sports games tend to age very poorly, so I am pleasantly surprised that In The Zone 98 is still relatively fun. The create-a-player is still pretty nice as well! Thanks for watching.
