CiB Let's Try - LEGO Racers (N64)
Lego Racers was on October 12, 1999 for the N64 -- it also received versions on PC, PS1, and Game Boy Color, released at various points between 1999-2000. It was developed by High Voltage Software, who still exists, and made a few solid titles such as Injustice: Gods Among Us, and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. It was published by LEGO Media themselves.
I totally understand this game has a lot of nostalgia -- I am just an absolute hater on Kart Racer games, and nobody will ever get me to change my mind. As far as Kart Racers are concerned, this is a solid effort (trust me, we've played way, way worse). Multiplayer is a little bit rough with the screen cut down so much, but having the full screen for single player makes the game run pretty well.
The 'Build' mode is very cool for a game of this age -- making your own characters and car really is an essential part for a LEGO racing game. Overall, it's a Kart Racer game, people have nostalgia for it, and I will definitely just leave it at that hahaha - thanks for watching!
