WinBack: Covert Operations was released on September 30, 1999 as a Nintendo 64 exclusive. It was developed by Omega Force (who generally is tasked with all the Dynasty Warriors games), and published by Koei (who publishes the Dynasty Warriors games, lol).

I will fully admit that Winback is not one of those games that does well in our CiB Let's Try Games format. Clearly, they put a lot of effort into the story, the atmosphere, and the setting, and we really only get to see one cutscene before we are thrown into our roughly 10 minutes of action -- alas, this is the nature of Let's Try videos!

Overall, I am impressed with the aforementioned story, characters, and the cutscene we saw, but the controls and the shooting mechanics leave -a lot- to be desired. It's one of those weird control issues that's impossible to explain, but trust me, I should not be this bad at aiming. The aiming is extremely difficult to get just right, and that is a no-go for a 3rd person action game.

Overall, you can really see they put a lot of work into WinBack, but I highly doubt the gameplay will satisfy anybody in (Current Year). Thanks for watching!
