Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero was released on December 11, 1997 for the N64. It also got a Playstation 1 version which was released on October 1, 1997, so a few months before the N64 one.

Although the PS1 version was developed by Midway (of NFL Blitz fame), the N64 version was developed by Avalanche Software -- that name may sound familiar, because they just released the highly acclaimed Hogwarts Legacy. What a difference from this game lol.

There is no way around it - MK Mythologies is awful. It's a 2D brawler / platformer with fighting game controls. Just like Batman Forever is terrible, MK Mythologies is awful (although I'd argue that Batman Forever is more awful). It's really, really difficult to make a platformer game where 'up' is jump -- hence almost everyone in the world giving up on this game on level 2.

Overall, it is a neat piece of history - especially if you're a MK fan - but otherwise, stay away from this one. Thanks for watching!
