CiB Let's Try - NHL 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge (PS1)
1NHL 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge was released in 1995 for arcades, then ported to the PS1 in late 1996. It was developed and published by Midway Games, who also made NBA Jam/Hangtime, Mortal Kombat, and many other beloved games from the 1990s.
First of all, I'm honestly surprised that I've never heard of this game. I like NBA Jam, love NBA Hangtime, and this is essentially the NBA Jam of hockey. I'm not sure if it's not well-known because it's hockey, or because it came out relatively early in the PS1's life, but this is definitely a nice surprise.
Much like NBA Hangtime, it's not a game you're likely to play for more than maybe 30 minutes to an hour of the time, but it's a great game to pick up and play, especially when you have friends around. Definitely recommend playing this one any way you can!
