CiB let's Try - Project: Horned Owl (PS1)
Project: Horned Owl was released in 1996 for the PS1, and was developed by Alfa System (Ys, Wonder Boy III, and some other quality Hudson Soft published games), and published by Sony themselves. The Japanese company Movic made the anime cutscenes - so to answer Trev's inquiry - it is technically a Japanese anime.
I'll admit that I've never heard of this game before, which on one hand is odd because I love rail/light-gun shooters, but, on the other hand is not odd at all because this game is boring as all get-out.
This is a great example of a game that looks good (it looks VERY good for 1996 especially), plays well, has a solid framerate, and simply doesn't work. In these Let's Try videos, we have to judge the game by its first level, and this first level is a snorefest. Even compared to other, similar games at the time, Project: Horned Owl is simply an uninteresting play. It's a shame, because it looked so cool. Maybe pick this one up for a collection if you like rail shooter games. Thanks for watching!
