CiB Let's Try - TMNT: Tournament Fighters (NES)
TMNT: Tournament Fighters was released originally on the SNES and Sega Genesis on September 4, 1993 -- it then received a version on the NES in February of 1994 -- making this a very late-release NES game. It was developed and published by Konami.
Going in, the only thing I knew about the NES version of TMNT: Tournament Fighters is that it was a later release NES game. I expected something very sub-par, but I must admit that I did 90's-era Konami dirty by questioning them -- make no mistake, the NES version of Tournament Fighters is nowhere near as good as the SNES version, but why would we ever expect that?
This game clearly uses the NES to its full advantage, and I impressed with the amount of characters, stages, graphics, and music -- the controls are also very solid for a fighting game. My only major complaint is that the Turtles don't even use their weapons... so what's the point of having all 4 be unique characters?
Regardless, TMNT: Tournament Fighters for the NES is a really solid version on inferior hardware, though it is not even -close- to worth the price of admission for the cartridge -- only get this one if you are a collector. Thanks for watching!
