CiB Let's Try - Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (NES)
Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu was released for the NES in December 1990, receiving a version on the Turbo-Grafx 16 in early 1991. It was developed by Now Production (who also made the -super- fun Famicom version of Splatterhouse, as well as Sonic Adventure DX for Gamecube, and Sonic Riders for Gamecube), and published by Hudson Soft.
As we mentioned in the video, we do not see this game at the store often at all, and now that I know it was released in 1990, I wonder why -- not always, but usually, rare and expensive NES games are late releases (1992 and on).
Regardless, this is an extremely solid title that blends a bit of NES difficulty with great Chibi graphics, solid sound, great controls, and a game that you could -actually beat- if you took some time. Imagine that! An NES game that you could actually have hopes of finishing with some practice! I will always, always prefer NES games that are generally beatable over the 'get good' games -- even the really fantastic ones like Castlevania III.
That being said, this cartridge may not be worth the price of admission to you - but it is a game you should play if you're a fan of NES platformers -- thanks for watching!
