The game uses 3 buttons:

A It's for calling time outs, mash it to increase run speed in fielding while stealing a base or catching a high fly ball.

B it's used only in field to make players run faster for catching a ball or to pass to a base team mate.

C it's for pitching and batting.

Clutch Hitter uses a 8 way joystick, it as multiple functions:
You can angle your pitching shoots even after pitching motion, it's used also for angle your batting and for moving players in the field.

The game features Regual Season play, A-Star basicaly an all stars match and Tournament.
In Tournament you play the last 3 innings of the game, with a preset score being displayed when you start.
The first game you are ahead 2 runs, then 1, then none and the score gets progressively worse until the last tournament game where you're down 2 runs and have to come back.
When on the mound, a stamina meter displays how much ''power'' you have left. The harder the pitch thrown, the more the bar depletes.
