Hazel recalled something that Shouko said before she left. Something about wanting to get revenge against not only Hazel, but also her own mother...
Hazel had felt that something was amiss with Mad Bunny's actions beyond what she saw of them. She wanted to investigate...
Hazel then asked Igusa about the UY Space Program, and how Mad Bunny has something to do with its goal to extract Aethr from the Comet. Mad Bunny sees Lagos & Xanadu as merely distractions, but not entirely enemies.
Igusa was also curious about this, really, but didn't want to bring it up too much to her CEO in regards to her orders about the Comet mission. Hazel then sensed that maybe the CEO of UY may also be related to Mad Bunny somehow...
Igusa wasn't really that close to her CEO, but her mother was. They founded Lagos together.
But then, Igusa did recall that her CEO did start going to some kind of module within Lagos' Research Station, but to get to there without any special assistance would be dangerous.
After Igusa joked that that spot was a secret stash of grape juice, Hazel had an idea of her own...
She wanted to venture towards that Research Station by herself, and find that module that the CEO had reached. The route being so dangerous only made Hazel even more curious for answers, and likewise, Igusa could relate to that.

For this 4th stage, you're now gonna need to avoid instant kill zones, be they falling right off the stage, or falling right into electric cords. If you haven't gotten the hang of using Hazel's Ghost Cresent attack by this point, then you're probably going to have an awful time getting through this level.
You can hit the ships you can use a platforms on this stage as much as you want to build your Combo counter, though you're probably also interested in going under the time record, too.
Lagos Hyperbolics' Highest Combo quota is at least a grand 160 hits at the least, and then its following boss' quota is just a mere 30 hits.

In the tighter second half of this stage, things are colder and quieter...
But then...
"What the hell...?"
Hazel saw another rabbit, cryogenically frozen, at that. And they looked just like her...
And that's when she put 2 & 2 together: The CEO of Lagos Hyperbolics... is Shouko's mother! And now she was planning something horrible with that Comet! Something that her daughter hated of her!
As you keep going further through this stage, these Hazel clones will suddenly break out from their seals to attack you!

Hazel eventually reached the main computer of the module.
In an entry from just yesterday, Shouko's mother, Soleil, had reported about a plan to kill Lune in order to access an area called Wonderland. In the meantime, she was preparing her Hazel clones, as well, seeing her as nothing but a weapon for the Xanadu Army. A MONSTER, even...
This was all of part of some goal to reach "OUR Dream"...
Hazel needed to report to Igusa about what was going to happen to Lune, but then...
She kept getting attacked by more clones of herself!

This boss just has you kill all of those clones, the Jackalope Units!
But then, the excruciating amount of effort Hazel had to put into this left her exhausted, and then she lost consciousness...
All she could do from there, was apologize to her dear Ashe...

Once Hazel came to, again, her UY Suit was gone, and now she was in a warehouse...
...surprisingly, a warehouse lead by Shouko & Fey of Mad Bunny. Her own enemies saved her life...
However, Shouko was still intending to kill Hazel, but that would be against Fey being the one to rescue her. It only happened because Fey was passing by through the Research Station, herself.
The reason Shouko hates Lagos is because she one time had to rescue Fey and Lune from there. She was disgusted at her mother doing experiments with hundreds of other people.
This experimenting affected Lune enough for his body to slowly tear himself apart. The only way to save him was to gather those Comet Shards. He had a suit to slow the corruption, but it got destroyed when Hazel fought him in Lumna City.
At present, he was kidnapped by Soleil's forces, and Hazel knew he was being taken to Wonderland.
At least, for the moment, Hazel wanted to accompany Shouko towards Wonderland to save Lune. Shouko didn't trust Hazel after all of the trouble she gave her before, but then decided to give Hazel just ONE chance to make up for that.
Replaying the Lagos stage will then bring Hazel back to the hideout.

One possibly unintended quirk I discovered:
Wherever Hazel is as her hub keeps depending on the last level you played. She's in Mad Bunny's hideout now, but if you play a stage before Lagos Hyperbolics and then exit, you'll return to the its quarters with Igusa and the others.
