This third stage of the game takes place in a Japanese town called Yokkaido. How fitting for Hazel considering her samurai-like essence.

According to Igusa, there's another Comet Shard being kept in a shrine in this town. Hazel is to retrieve it as soon as possible before Mad Bunny can get their paws on it.
----------

You'll be jumping from building to building to get through this level. The main gimmick here is that there are wind currents that will lift you up to higher places. Take advantage of this to continue your Combos against the enemies.

If Combos are what you're focused on maintaining, then Hazel's Karma should be irrelevant to worry about. That said, you may be seeing yourself start these levels over constantly if you're trying to go for an S Rank, or even an S+. I know I have.

Yakkaido's Highest Combo quota is at least 75 hits, and then its following boss' quota is 25 hits.
----------

Passing by a Checkpoint, a familiar face also passes by Hazel. One of the Mad Bunny members, and interestingly enough, that one seemed to have been from Yakkaido, itself.

Soon afterwards, Hazel was able to confront this person at the shrine that the next Comet Shard was located.

This rabbit revealed themselves as a girl named Shouko Hikari... and someone Hazel remembered as an old friend...

Like Fey before, Shouko did not take lightly that Hazel now worked for Lagos and Xanadu. Her main reason for tracking down Yakkaido's Comet Shard was because she discovered that Hazel was on her way towards it, as well.

This was a setup, so that Shouko could confront Hazel... and KILL her.

For once in this mission, Hazel couldn't bare to kill her old friend, but Shouko was furious with her about an incident that happened before with her, and this desire to kill Hazel now was out of revenge for that incident.
----------

Once again, as Hazel, Ghost Crescent strikes are you best friend against bosses and their attacks. Shouko will attack with different moves from her Flower Kite, though you can also target this for Ghost Cresent to cancel some attacks.
----------

Hazel's battle against Shouko result in the shrine's Comet Shard they were both after to get shattered.

All this did was make Shouko even angrier at Hazel. She mentioned how the sword she carried at her side belonged to someone else. A man...

As much as she hated it now, Shouko accepted Hazel's hesitance to finish her off, and used the opportunity to retreat.

However, she still swore revenge, but not only against Hazel, but also her own mother... But what did Shouko's mother do...?
----------

Back at Lagos HQ, Hazel needed some time to herself after a briefing with Igusa.

Axel came in to check on her because he was worried about her. He even brought some coffee for each of them.

Hazel initially tried to brush Axel away, but then wanted him back. She felt she was being too harsh, and admitted that she wasn't always this serious. She really wanted someone to talk to right now.

So the two sat together and had their coffee. Hazel enjoyed hers. Axel made the coffee based on Igusa's blending skills.

Axel used to be an ice skater a long time ago, but now took up stargazing like his late little brother used to...

Hazel also lost a special someone, a friend named Ashe that she shared with Shouko. Ashe wanted to enlist in the military to he could help and save lives. It left such a glowing impression to Hazel...

But then one day, Ashe lost his life, causing Hazel's heart to become more cold and apathetic as she was presently...

After being told this, Axel thought that Hazel's cold heart could be warmed up through his coffee and their chat together to talk about such heavy topics...

In the first in a long time... this actually made Hazel smile. So perhaps Axel's thoughts were working...
