You know, I could make a lot of dirty jokes about this boss. But I won't. But I could. But I won't. They kind of invited it anyway, what with the whole pole-dancing thing.

You probably aren't intended to fight this boss second. Or maybe you are, but I found it several orders of magnitude harder than the succeeding boss (Insatiable Despot).

As with the previous boss, the first phase is mostly inconsequential. The stomp and pole-plant attacks make it look like you can get off two hits before they hit you once the telegraph starts. You can't. Also, it's easier to avoid the scythe sweep combo by walking away after the first dodge rather than dodging repeatedly. If you don't, stamina management becomes a problem since several of her attacks require 2+ dodges to avoid.

You may notice that it's possible to knock bosses down. Generally, your best option is to capitalize on this opening by dealing as much damage as possible. In this instance, it's especially important, because the lower her HP is when she starts the (much tougher) second phase, the better.

As for the second phase, the pole-dancing water-flinging attack is trivial to avoid, as seen late in the video. You can spam dodges, assuming you have at least medium rolls, and most likely be fine. The pole plant attack is followed up by spinning, which requires you to dodge back -- and in no other direction -- should you seek to avoid damage.

And how could I overlook the slide? The slide is the most dangerous attack in the boss' arsenal by far. It's a one-shot without my defense buff active, can be done either alone or twice in succession, and has several different follow-ups. You want to see the big scythe sweep, as it's the easiest to avoid by a significant margin, though it's ALSO a one-shot if it connects.

This must have taken me more than a hundred attempts (probably not really, but felt like it). Fighting this boss had me pretty demoralized, but I can't think of a more satisfying victory in recent times. In retrospect, however, using poison probably would have made this fight a lot easier.

See you in the next video, where I learn my lesson about poison.
