Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004) - Every PC Rally Game

Due to the delayed release of Colin McRae Rally 04 on PC, 2004 saw Codemasters actually release two McRae games for the PC in the same year! This 2005 titled version added a new location (Germany) and a few more cars, whilst making the whole game faster (it feels more arcade-y at times). Oh, and sticks/leaves fall from trees if you hit them!
Graphically it's nice, but often a bit more gloomy looking than previous games in the series.
I'm running the game here with two command line codes, WIDESCREENDISPLAY to run in widescreen (without stretching things or using a mod) and FORCEHT to ensure the advanced particles are activated (these need HyperThreading, which the game doesn't detect on newer PCs). The latter allows for much denser snow/smoke, etc.
There are a few glitches here and there; the roof of the Clio in the rainy clip seems to be see-through (when you brake), whilst the mud spray in the UK clip seems more like rain spray on tarmac than sticky mud, with white clouds of smoke flying out!
Overall, I tend to prefer the 04 version to this one. After this game though, Codemasters switched to using the DiRT branding, which we'll get to later on in this playlist!
