Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Hard - Introduction
Long time subscribers will remember that I partially recorded Red Alert 3 in Co-op before the other person decided they didn't want to do it anymore. I'd much rather play this in Co-op as the AI ally in every level is either not that helpful or a liability.
I'll be able to do at least the first two campaigns though.
It's been a few years since I've played this.
It's not a bad C&C game, definitely better than the two aberrations that are Generals and Command & Conquer 4 anyway. The Red Alert series was camp from the beginning, the only difference now is that is has recognised actors playing the camp roles. And the women are even more sexualised than before.
I actually like the style of gameplay with unit abilities and support powers, I don't like the limitations placed on resource collecting, before you could have 7-10 Havesters on later levels here you'll only get one per mine that you control. The each structure having it's own unit queue bugs me too, but this actually helps given the resource limitations. I don't want to play a game of unit spam like in Generals.
Anyway on to the story.
I believe this takes place after Red Alert 2, or another war after that and the Soviet general has his scientists working on a time machine. He goes back in time with the scientist and Premier, and they kill Einstein, starving the allies of years of technology (in particular the Chronosphere).
This inadvertently causes the Empire of the Rising Sun to be the technological war machine, and the Soviets no longer have Nuclear Missiles due to Einstein's contributions towards these.
I've only recorded a few levels so far, but I do expect to at least complete the Soviet and Allied campaign. This isn't the main game I wanted to record though, I'll keep it to weekends.
I'm still trying to decide which Final Fantasy to play next, whether that be 6,7,8,9,10,12.
