Command & Conquer Remastered Red Alert | [Allies 08A] Protect the Chronosphere (North) コマンド&コンカー
*Mission Guide: Protect the Chronosphere - First Variation (A)*
This mission freaked me out a bit when I was playing this as a kid… Relentless attacks by Soviet Mammoth tanks, V2 rocket launchers (in particular, the combination of those two with groups of infantry). A nightmare! To make matters worse, you start with a separate reinforcements group in the north of the map and need to navigate your MCV to the abandoned base in the south. The road is guarded by a group of heavy tanks and V2 rocket launchers. The best way is to use your destroyers to take out and damage as many tanks as possible before moving your medium and light tanks in to take out any remaining forces. Timing in this mission is critical, as you don’t want to wait too long before the Soviets gain full strength (in the beginning they’re still a bit docile and you can take out their base completely before they start producing units). Though beware that Soviet forces will still arrive from the north (incoming tanks and rocket launchers) and west (by landing craft), so also guard the beachheads near your base well!

*Strategy Guide:*
*1. It’s free real estate*
_Just after the mission starts, sell the gap generators in the base to the south (as Soviet bombers will inevitably destroy some power plants, getting rid of the gap generators will still keep your radar dome operational). Also, sell a concrete wall segment to provide a shortcut for your ore trucks to the iron ore field just outside of the base (in this video, that will be done a little bit later). Better not to immediately start up iron ore collection by your ore trucks (you don’t have any base construction capabilities just yet, so silos will be quickly getting full)._
*2. Davy Jones*
_Next, focus on getting your MCV to the southern base. Position your destroyers near the shores and take out the V2 rocket launchers (they will reveal themselves as they target you). After the rocket launchers are taken out, you can proceed with taking out the heavy tanks. Finish off the remaining forces with your medium and light tanks. It is important to keep your tank force as intact as possible for an early attack on the Soviet main base. To do so, you could train a couple of rocket soldiers to assist in destroying Soviet heavy tanks._
*3. Quick action*
_Key in this mission is to quickly disable the production capabilities of the Soviet base to the northeast. After removing the heavy tanks blocking the route to your base, prepare for a direct assault on the base with your remaining forces. Focus on the tesla coil guarding the base, then the flame tower and barracks. Once you breach the base, focus on the construction yard and war factory; if possible, take out the two refineries as well. After you start to direct your fire on the ore refineries, enemy units will start to move towards you. Since the base is already rendered useless, it’s better to bring back the victors to assist in defending your base._
*4. Home improvement*
_Deploy your MCV (if not done already) and build up your base. Get your economy and unit production going. Use the mine layers to block the beachheads with mines (this will prevent landing craft from deploying units and causing you headaches). Position your destroyers near the beachheads to take out Soviet landing craft. Construct some base defenses (pillboxes and turrets are important to help you repel incoming Soviet attacks)._
*5. Tank you very much*
_Get basic tank production going, and be sure to have enough tanks to guard your base. If you feel like it, you can also finish off the remaining structures and units that were left after the initial assault on the base. There is a possibility to repair the radar dome of an allied faction across the river (gray color). The allied faction will send attack helicopters to assist in destroying enemy units (not shown in the video)._
*6. Not done yet*
_Though destroying the base reduced incoming attacks significantly, Soviet reinforcements will keep arriving (at set times remaining on the countdown clock). You can prepare for incoming assaults by creating some minefields to repel tanks and other units. Soviet forces will arrive at 20 and 10 – 6 (particularly big wave) minutes left on the clock._
*7. Sit back and relax*
_Wait until the timer runs out 😊. Keep an eye on your power production; when the timer runs out, you should have enough power to initialize the Chronosphere experiment. If you are on low power when the timer runs out, you will instantly fail the mission! This is a tough one, but you can do it! Good luck, commander!_
