Mission Guide: Evidence (B)
We are cranking up the difficulty with the first underground level of the Allied campaign. It brings back memories! Our task is to find and disable four control centers in the underground complex to stop the nuclear missiles that were launched just minutes ago. Easy, right? Just get those engineers to the terminals. However, the facility is filled with Ivan’s army, including tanks, infantry, attack dogs, those nasty grenadiers, and soldiers with flamethrowers. It’s a challenging level but still doable!
Let’s go through it step by step!
Strategy Guide
Let’s play the waiting game!
The first minute of the level is the easiest part. Just wait for a minute (literally) as the Reds will storm the elevator with your units in it. Take your time to group units according to your liking (this is recommended since microing your units will be easier this way). After a minute, you can start to come out with your infantry and move ahead.
Bunker Moths
Move your infantry ahead and take a right turn to the east. Use your riflemen to eliminate incoming soldiers. Be sure to watch your engineers, field medic, and spies as enemy attack dogs can make short work of them if left unguarded. Move down the corridor and position your riflemen in groups of five (this increases their survival chances). Underground levels in Red Alert are all about keeping your forces healthy, so make sure to heal wounded soldiers using your field medic. Ah, that healing sound is so soothing!
The Great Hall
Move south along the corridors, sticking to the right wall to avoid triggering enemy soldiers. Be aware that attack dogs will start to move in. Use stop commands to halt your forces regularly (this activates automatic defense mode, targeting incoming attack dogs). When you arrive at the last (great) hall (the one filled with a huge number of Mammoth tanks), station your troops at the entrance. Position your riflemen behind your engineers to guard them from incoming attack dogs. Order one of your spies to move into the hall, and reinforcements will arrive from the south. Let’s rock!
Have No Fear, Tanya Is Here!
Use Tanya to clear out enemy forces to the right of the great hall. Beware, a group of attack dogs will come in! Circle around and make sure no enemy soldiers are left. Move one of your engineers to the control room northeast of the great hall.
He Who Controls the Past Commands the Future
Move Tanya and your squad to the left (west) side of the facility. On the way, soldiers will keep coming in from the right. Be sure to position your troops well (I always go back and forth with Tanya to finish off incoming enemy forces). Take one of your engineers and disable the second control center adjacent to the corridor (south direction). Move ahead around the corner (be careful as enemy soldiers will start to move into your position, and there is also an attack dog. Pace yourself and slowly finish off incoming units).
Disco Inferno
It’s time to go to the third control center. This one is guarded with a flame tower (nasty bugger). Take one of your engineers and move past the flame tower as far to the right as possible. There is a control terminal that destroys the flame tower. Use your field medic to patch up the damaged engineer and send him to the third control terminal to deactivate it!
Ashes to Ashes
The last part of the mission is to deactivate the fourth (and final) control terminal to disable the last nuclear missile. There will be many units and patrols guarding the corridors, but using Tanya, it should be no problem to eliminate them. Be careful, as there are multiple squads patrolling. Also, watch out for a squad of flamethrower soldiers coming in from the east (I always proactively eliminate them before they hunt your squad). Once everyone is eliminated, take your squad to the fourth control terminal and disable it, thereby finishing the mission! Good luck, Commander!
