Save stating like it's 1991! 8D

Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Commander Keen in "Goodbye, Galaxy!", a pair of games representing the fourth and fifth Episodes in the Commander Keen saga, developed by Id Software and published through Apogee at the end of 1991, and unlike the original Keen games, these two are EXTREMELY difficult... well... unless you're taking full advantage of the saving and loading mechanics, but even then...

Additional Information and Corrections:

* Here's the link to Goodbye, Galaxy over on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/9180

* And just in case you'd rather get just Episode 4 and 5 over on 3D Realms, here's the link for it: https://3drealms.com/catalog/commander-keen-goodbye-galaxy_8/

* So it turns out there IS a boxed release of this duo of games! It came out in 1993 and as far as I can tell is exceedingly rare as I didn't find out it existed until AFTER this video went live! :o

* Also, the Steam release has been confirmed to lack the CGA data files. This means to get CGA in Episode 5 specifically, you absolutely MUST source an original disk of some sort. :/

* Another option for playing these Keen games are the source ports, of which I'm aware of two: Omnispeak and Commander Genius, the latter of which being the one you most likely want to look into just from all the added features it has over the original games, although I didn't try out either of them for myself... yet. :B

* Err... I got the openings for the first two Terminator movies mixed up in the stinger. Whoops. :P
