Complete in Box Plays - Oxide: Room 104 - Part 3 - FINALE
And we're back for the final part of Oxide: Room 104! So, clearly, the game is nowhere near perfect, but I give it a lot of respect for being an indie title made with very limited amount of people / resources. A quick breakdown of the positives and negatives, in my eyes:
Positives:
-Gameplay changes each time you die
-Extra story bits can be found through documents
-Each motel room is like its own individual puzzle
-The game doesn't try to be more than it is (too complicated, etc)
Negatives:
-The English voice acting is just bad
-The story is not obvious in any way, even after reading all documents
-The final 10% of the game (once you get through the padlock on the 3rd floor) is not good at all, too random, and disjointed.
-The ending is awful and extremely disappointing, even the 'best' ending.
Overall, I cannot recommend Oxide: Room 104 for the current $29.99 price tag on PSN. As of typing this, it is currently $13.99 on Steam, which is -much- more reasonable, and I could recommend this unique experience for that price. Overall, I don't necessarily want a sequel to this game (although the ending was just awful / didn't do anything), but I would like to see more from the creative minds behind Oxide: Room 104. Thank you very much for watching - more horror games coming soon!
