Congo Bongo SEGA Commodore 64 disk NTSC only version running on PAL model
This is why I love the C64 more than any other 8 bit computer or console, and it is not for technical reasons (horrible restrictions to some colour modes and sprites have to share 2/3 colours all the time!) BUT it was the home computer that let you play excellent versions of some of the best early 80s arcade games, Time Pilot (Space Pilot), Donkey Kong (Ocean tape/disk release) and this, a sublime version of Sega's superior (IMO) Donkey Kong rival with trademark isometric graphics, is another one to add to the list. Hell the C64 even had a £1.99 lovely Pac-Man game. I think now we see why NES failed with it's £50 cartridge games in the UK for sure (we were poor, still recovering from the economic damage paying the USA for 'helping' out in WW2 lol)
Sadly this game will not run with SD2IEC or SD2CART devices and is really rare to get an original of. So either you have to own the original, which happily runs just fine on a UK PAL C64, or get the more expensive 1541 ultimate.
My only gripe, the main sprite is a bit erm yellow....surely a better compromise could have been done....but this is really not a negative when you play this game on other machines and consoles!!!
