Conquest of Elysium 3 (High Priestess) Part 1
High Priestess playthrough on a Empire society Small map with eight opponents. This failed miserably because of the High Cultist being right next to us starting off and utterly destroying us with his aoe magic. After the initial fails, I made a new map with the same settings but with only five opponents this time.
High Priestess use sacrifices to perform summons and upgrades. Sacrifices are gathered from hamlets and above every month no matter the season. Their summon costs are equal to the witch uses if the witch used reduced fungus costs and do not require a control check. Early summons are mostly spiders and scorpions with some minor demons. Greater summons are giant varieties of the mentioned creatures and some other demons including those that can cast magic.
Being able to recruit five different units gives their forces a bit more variety and having access to heavy infantry is a plus. Even better is the High Priestess will be offered two Gibbors which are normal speed heavies with more hp and hit harder for a relatively low iron cost.
High Priestess spells are mainly summons that disappear at the end of battle, some fire magicks, and the rest are raw magic damage types. So, offensive magic/summons, better recruits, and cheaper/reliable summons compared to the Witch. As long as their is enough civilization, High Priestess can be a great threat indeed. But even there is not much to sacrifice, their units are good enough to stand on their own until you do gather enough resources. Only drawback is their lack of powerful range units like the crossbow.
