What's up Brohams, this is my review of the MDR-C. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Made in America by Desert Tech, the DT MDR-C is currently still a prototype, compact version of it's Big Brother the MDR, which is already on the market. It's barrel is 10" as opposed to the 26" MDR full size. These Micro Dynamic rifles are used by both Law Enforcement, and the Military as it's basic version is a select-fire weapon. A semi-automatic only version of the MDR is also planned for civilian sales. Unlike the MDR, it is better suited to short barrels and CQB work. Obviously, the Devs really liked this gun enough to add it before it's even available for the consumer XD
The MDR-C is a multi caliber bullpup rifle. it Features a caliber breakdown system, with 3 pins and a torque wrench lock that enable you to switch barrels for 3 calibers-- .300, 7.62, and 5.56. 5.56 comes standard on this particular set up. It would be nice to see, the other 2 calibers available in customization, for both MDR'S at some point, hopefully soon. There's also a front sight post on the barrel, which makes it unnecessary to rezero. You can just use a red dot boresight, like the one shown here, to synch up your sights. The MDR-C is as feature rich as it's big brother, with both ambidextrous safety, and charging handle. The forward ejecting port for all the spent casings is the same, although neither animations in the game seem to reflect this. Maybe that's just to look flashier, but the brass should shoot out forward, and down. sorry to be so technical about it, but I know there's a guy from liverpool who would really be proud of me right now.
The overall balance on this gun is a surprise considering recoil. Visually, with the included Leupold Compact Collimator, the recoil is very manageable. The ACR, it is not. The MDR-C has 30 Rounds per Magazine, with 10 Magazines. This is 10 more rounds than the 20 you get with the MDR, yet two less mags than the PDR-C. This is my only complaint really. Ammo management can really pose a problem, especially for the prokill, and legendary crowd. Normally, use of your secondary helps, but the damage of this weapon can make higher killstreaks difficult, if you don't manage your ammunition well. That being said, this is definitely a double kill beast, and you can get triples with this, if you hone your bursting skills. You can also make use of the single fire mode, which is my go to to maintain my bullet to kill ratio. The range is decent, and despite being ten meters less than the noveske, I can't really see that much of a difference.
