Before you spend money on gallons of liquid cooling, try this trick to cool down your CPU when it gets too hot. Using a tool called Throttlestop, you can bring your CPU temperatures down by a cool 30% or even more.

The process to do this is called undervolting, which is limiting the amount of voltage sent to your CPU, thereby keeping it cool (this is particularly handy for laptops). Undervolting doesn’t negatively impact CPU performance unless you undervolt A LOT, at which point your PC may crash. If that happens, just reboot and don’t undervolt so hard next time!
