Copycat Demo Playthrough
9A playthrough of the demo of Copycat for Steam Next Fest. I have been following Copycat as any games where you can play as a cat intrigue me, but I have mixed thoughts about the demo. I enjoyed being able to pick 1 of 6 cats to play as and later on customizing the collar, and I love that the game is voice acted. I also like that there are choices throughout the demo. However, when I started the demo, it stated I should use a controller, which I did, but the controls are a little weird especially with the movement and rotating the screen. Also, there are quite a few cutscenes that I feel do not always flow with the game. For example, I attempt to jump on the table from the side to get food, but the cutscene shows Dawn reaching from the end of the table to get the plate. Also, near the end especially when Dawn is dreaming, there are numerous long loading screens that take away from the game and I kept thinking okay this is where the demo is ending due to how long the loading time was. However, I am still intrigued by what the full game entails.
Copycat is a narrative-driven game where you play as a newly adopted shelter cat. As you settle in, a stray copycat steals your place in the household and forces you to the streets.
