Have you ever wanted to play a game for nonstop hours on end? A game full of action and excitement. If so, than Counter Strike Global Offensive is the perfect choice for you!
Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS: GO) is a first person shooter developed by VALVE in 2012, who also developed games such as Half Life and Portal. CS: GO features updated versions of some maps from Counter Strike 1.6 and Source such as Dust II, Inferno, Nuke, Train, Italy among others. The graphics have been updated to fit in with modern times but most importantly it's still the same classic gameplay we've all come to know and love; players can choose different factions or teams to fight against each other and complete various objectives depending on the map.
In this game, there are two teams: the terrorists and the counter-terrorists. In most maps, it is required that you as a terrorist plant a bomb or kill a certain amount of hostages to accomplish your goals whereas as a counter-terrorist you must prevent this from happening. There are different types of weapons such as pistols, submachine guns, shotguns , sniper rifles etc... Each weapon has its advantages and disadvantages so choosing a right gun for each map will guarantee a win!
Unlike other games similar to CS: GO, there is no single player option so all your time would be spent playing with real people which adds another level of excitement and thrill. The multiplayer option allows up to 30 players to play with you at one time, although it works best within 16 players since the larger numbers of people tend to make the game feel a bit crowded.
As a beginner, i would definitely recommend playing multiplayer with friends because even if you are good at shooters, playing online is a whole different story and takes a lot of practice and skill to accomplish. There are a variety of modes within multiplayer such as casual, deathmatch , arms race among others which each have their own set rules .
Although I would recommend this game to people who enjoy playing first person shooters such as Call of Duty and Counter Strike: Source, it is important to note that the age rating for this game is 18+ since there are some scenes which include violence.
For those of you who already own CS: GO and would like to play with others online, you can choose to join a server and communicate using text and voice chat options. However, if those don't work out then simply creating your personal room where other players can find you within different matchmaking servers is another option.
