Coveless - Mid Charge Compilation w/ Inputs - Spyro 1
A short compilation of some successes with Coveless from a mid-charge savestate, ending in 2 attempts that made it in nearly back to back. Originally I was only going to upload the latter half of attempts, but realized that the input display in the bottom left of the emulator was cut off because the window was resized, so I ended up recording a few more attempts until I had a handful with clearly visible inputs.
Learning the wallglide and starting to understand it better now. I think with some more practice this will start to be more reliable, but unfortunately getting a charge with this exact or similar angle consistently is still very difficult for me without a consistent setup. I've been trying some things suggested to me by others, but its still the hardest part of the trick for me at this point. The trick actually feels very similar to learning Fish Ladder as well, particularly Fish Escalator in that regard.
I was unsure if I wanted to upload this publicly, but there don't seem to be a lot of clear examples of Coveless uploaded, so I figured I should post this in case anyone else would like to study this trick as well and is wanting more references for attempts. There's not a lot I have to say about it as I'm learning it still, but this at least shows that getting a good hook (wallglide on the back of the head) is crucial to success the most it seems. A good hook allows you to just hold Right (or hold Left if you attempt this on the other side) in order to clip in early above the cheek. I feel like having simple inputs like that is much more reliable for making this consistent enough to attempt in full, compared to having to do small adjustments to your wallglide in order to glide further and clip in above the snout. Many attempts that were barely short of the early clip would flop on its edge, which is reminiscent of my attempts at Fish Escalator, and attempts that were too low, could not hold a wallglide easily to the end, or would get flopped downward by the cheek. Maybe the angle for my charge is a bit lucky, but considering how small of an area there is to aim for anyways, I am hoping it doesnt make as much of a difference in the long run. Ideally there should be a way to get a good hook from any sucessful proxy in the right spot, but we'll see. I know at least most coveless demonstrations and successes have slightly different angles and proxy spots, so that part is aat least not as exactly specific perhaps. I'm not sure!
By the time of uploading this, I've managed to get this a total of 25 times from mid charge, and a few more times from mid proxy. The majority of successes were from this savestate.
Hoping to get this in full eventually! Thanks to everyone who has been helping me out in learning this trick! ^^
