Crash into this Boss! (Mega Man 2, NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears!
915In Mega Man 2 for the NES, there's an awful boss toward the end of Dr. Wily's Fortress that requires to use a whole lot of Crash Bomber to destroy some laser turrets and some breakable walls.
If you're fighting this boss the way it was intended, you will need your ENTIRE ARSENAL of Crash Bomber. This will take a FULL weapon meter! But there are a few tricks you can employ while fighting this annoying boss to make efficient use of your Crash Bomber AND beat the level faster.
There are two useful spots where you can plant one Crash Bomber to destroy two objects. The first is in the corner of the wall just below the top turret. You'll have to press Mega Man's face against the wall as you shoot a Crash Bomber here, being careful not to get hit while jumping. The bomb should get stuck IN the wall, and the explosion will take out the top turret AND the wall underneath.
The second spot is above the bottom garage door thingy. Press Mega Man up against the bottom breakable door and perform a full jump. As you start to descend, plant a Crash Bomb. The explosion should take out TWO doors, which is neat!
Now if all that's remaining are the two bottom right turrets, there's a crazy glitch you can exploit. Jump and plant a Crash Bomber on the wall just above the top turret on the rightmost wall. Hug the wall as you descend to collide with the turret and take damage. IMMEDIATELY make your way down to the bottom right turret at collide with it to take damage.
If you timed it right, you will run into the turret just as your Crash Bomber begins to explode. Not only will it KO the top turret, but colliding with the bottom turret will somehow transfer the explosion into the bottom turret, killing that one as well!
Also, if you pause and unpause just before any of the bullets from the turrets hit you, you will dodge them!
