Cloning Pokémon and Duplicating Items in Pokémon Emerald (Game Boy Advance) - A Wild Glitch Appears!
1,308There's a super easy glitch you can exploit in Pokemon Emerald for the GBA that allows you to clone Pokemon while also duplicating any items they hold. This glitch requires access to the Battle Tower, so you need to have beaten the Elite Four at least once.
First, log on to the PC in the upper right corner of the Battle Tower. Place any Pokémon you wish to clone in their OWN BOX in the Pokémon Storage System. Now make sure you have room in your active party to move those Pokémon back into your party.
So if you're trying to clone THREE Pokemon in your storage box, make sure you have THREE OPEN SPACES in your current party. Note that you can only clone up to six Pokémon due to party size restrictions.
Log off the PC and save your game. Then, log back on to the PC and move the Pokemon you wish to clone back into your active party.
Now, talk to the nice lady at the desk closest to you and enter the Battle Tower challenge. After confirming which Pokémon you will enter into the challenge, she will tell you that you must save your game. Say yes, but DON'T SAVE YOUR GAME YET.
Once the Save File information appears on screen (the one that shows your hours played and stuff) turn the game off, then turn it back on.
Once you load up the save file, you will see that the Pokémon you wanted to clone are still in the storage box, but they are ALSO in your active party. Nicely done! You have cloned some Pokémon! Now contemplate whether this triumph of science might also be a failure of morality.
As a bonus, the cloned Pokémon will be holding ANOTHER COPY of whatever item the original was holding. So in this example I was able to duplicate a Master Ball and some other items.
