Croc (GBC) - No Wrong Warp in 22:57 [World Record]
7So, this beats my previous world record set two years ago by about 16 seconds. The goal I had when revisiting this game was to finally put the sub-23 to rest, and I'm happy that I finally got it.
At the end of the video, I mention I wanted to improve this, due to mistakes made in 3-5, 4-2, and 4-5, which cost about 10 seconds worth of time. However, I've decided to not do that unless someone beats this time. The reason for this is because I failed to recognize all the things that went right in the run.
See, in 3-5, I missed two jumps; in 4-2, I missed a small skip (a hard one, at that); and in 4-5, I completely forgot to jump at a certain time to get an easy skip. Yes, these mistakes look pretty bad, but all that aside, I had four perfect bosses this run. Flibby and Baron Dante are easy if you know what you're doing, but Itsy and Cactus Jack could screw you with bad RNG if you're unlucky. Itsy, whose RNG is so frustrating that the battle could easily put you 20 seconds behind, was perfect. I mean, that alone makes this a good run, because I've NEVER had perfect RNG on that guy - not even in practice!
In addition, all the crazy little skips in 2-2 were done perfectly, some of which are quite challenging. We also had great RNG as far as crystal losses go. At no point did we have to worry about running low on them, and we had plenty to spare by 4-5. It was good enough to be a sub-23, so in my eyes, this run was all-in-all a success.
