Crystal Castles was a significant title in Atari Arcade history. It was the first arcade game with a true ending and it was the first with hidden warp zones. The main character Bently Bear became a mascot for Atari for a while, a concept that was new to the video game industry. He wasn't the first, Pac-Man which game out 3 years earlier has that distinction. The game used the MOS Technologies 6502 like so many other Atari games of the time, had two Pokey chips for sound effects and music, and the Leta chip which was a new trackball controller. Crystal Castles is a rather important title in the evolution of video games, come with me as we take a look at this arcade classic.
