In this Cyberpunk 2077 interview we talk about the making of Cyberpunk, how Pondsmith got involved and how Cyberpunk Red fits into the videogame. You've seen the Cyberpunk trailer and the Cyberpunk 2077 demo - with new Cyberpunk 2077 Gamescom gameplay arriving on Friday, so why not fill the time until then in the company of Mr Cyberpunk Mike Pondsmith. Our Cyberpunk interview covers everything from how he knew he had found a worthy studio in CD Projekt Red to advising the team about flying cars and the secret of good Cyberpunk 2077 weapons.

Before it was a videogame, Cyberpunk is a tabletop RPG, so we ask Mike about the challenges of transferring those rules, and the infinite potential of the human imagination, into a single virtual world. One of the interesting parts of the Cyberpunk 2077 Gamescom gameplay was seeing our V enter cyberspace - and we chat about the execution of that, too. Mike Pondsmith also has Cyberpunk Red coming out soon, so we ask how this adventure, set between Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyberpunk 2077, fits into things.

It's very rare to see a creator so heavily involved in the videogame adaptation of their work, and so passionate about the world they've created. Later in the week we interview one of the members of the team about how they built Cyberpunk 2077's Night City, and to see their admiration for Mike Pondsmith's world building was endearing.
