Daizo's Journey (Cancelled Build) - W2-2 - Hidden Factory Of Deadly Robots!
12024 revealed the release of "Daizo's Journey ~ Chapter 1: To Rise Above All" and a few people were curious what will happen to the original Daizo's Journey build I started back at around 2011/2012. So I'm releasing videos of what is now going to be known as the "Cancelled Build" which I'll release as a hack at some point in the future. This will document every single finished level I made.
The second level of the second world. This is a fairly world-buildy level, where it's more about the environments provided through one single level than a whole gimmick to focus on. The level's also big enough to house a secret exit, and substantial enough to have a custom boss. Keep in mind I wasn't the boss coder I am today, so it's just Dahnamic's Thunder Slimmer because it was an intriguing robot boss. Also we gotta love the silly MMX enemies that are kinda jank.
Plan for the future -
I like the separate ideas in this level like the "glitch" enemies that hide as tiles, as well as the way I used the bouncing saws in tandem with the wall jumping. I think I mostly want to program my own set of enemies for the level instead of resource stuff, and program a brand new original mini boss.
