Ever sine the inclusion of modern weapons in the 5th edition dungeons and dragons dungeon masters guide we've wanted to use them in a modern fantasy game of D&D 5e. After reviewing several unearthed and a behind the screen article from wizards of the coast nerdarchy has finally found a DM to run that game for us. We will be role-playing as ourselves templates over with fantasy versions of ourselves. Nerdarchy's faithful fan base of loyal nerds will be appearing as npc's in the game as well.
