Back in the 80's and early 90's I lived in San Francisco. One morning i read in the back of the San Francisco Chronicle a small, easily overlooked little blurb about finding an unidentified, homeless man, dead on the steps of St. Vincent De Paul, a soup kitchen, and homeless outreach organization.

The article stuck me and lingered with me not letting go of my heart. I eventually wrote this song because I just couldn't stand the fact that this man had dies, without even having a name to leave after him.

I recorded the song maybe 10 years later and that is what you are about to hear.
