The Ruin Sentinels are a hard fight alone (moreso at SL1), but can be beaten with some good preparation. An upgraded Magic Mace can cut down the first Sentinel on the raised platform, a combination of Firebombs and Macing will destroy the second and a safe fall via the Car Ring will put you in good position to Firebomb the third Sentinel to death on the ground level. For defense, utilize the fantastic 100% physical blocking abilities of the Royal Kite Shield from MacDufflebag...er, MacDuff. SL1 characters have enough strength to 2-hand the shield effectively!
