It's generally not very effective but the bleed buildup on the Eleonora axe, when buffed with its weapon art, isn't that terrible either.

Also, more people need to add kicking shields to their playstyle, as it's really effective at shutting down the circle strafe backstab mentality. Small shields are almost guaranteed to get guard broken, especially if they're running at you with their guard up. While medium shields depend more on the user and how much pressure you can place on them, if they're not lowering their guard often enough though then one or two hits before a kick will usually do the trick.
