There is never a good reason to hide behind a boss fog wall. It's clearly an oversight and unintended consequence of FromSoftware trying to not spoil when a boss is up ahead for new players (should they have an invader in the world on their first time through an area). This host was clearly a stream sniper just trying to "epic troll" streamers though, I've seen him do this in other's streams as well. I don't mind the occasional stream snipe but players like this, who don't even slightly entertain the idea of intended gameplay, are just a waste of time.
