Dark Souls 3: Why Do You Even Have That Shield? (Raw Clip)
Across all my builds I have quite a few spell casters of various types. Across all of those casters I've ran into the Sacred Bloom Shield and Golden Wing Crest Shield on a number of occasions. Among all those occasions I have never had one of my spells parried though.
As someone who generally tries to parry spells when I have one of the capable shields I understand why; it takes more stamina than a roll, has no i-frames, unlike a roll has a fairly lengthy recovery, can easily be mistimed, given any serious lag/latency will likely miss regardless, and it in no way punishes the caster. Ultimately, it's just a unique way to style on a caster but personally I have never had anyone even attempt a spell parry on any of my casters, even those that were trying to parry my weapon made no attempt to parry a spell. Given how much worse they are compared to equivalently weighted shields I just don't understand it.
