#SANCTUARY GUARDIAN
The Sanctuary Guardian is a huge manticore guarding the entry to Oolacile Sanctuary. It's a powerful creature that functions as the first boss of the DLC area, and a hint for what's to come.
#ARTORIAS THE ABYSS WALKER
Knight Artorias was one of the four Knights of Gwyn, the commanding knights of Lord Gwyn's army. Artorias had an unbendable will of steel, which both helped and fed his hatred for servants of the Dark, particularly the Darkwraiths of Kaathe.
Lord Gwyn bequeathed him with a custom-made ring, the Wolf Ring, to assist in his already unmatched ability to wield a greatsword.
When in New Londo Artorias discovered the ability of abysswalking; earning him his title: Artorias the Abysswalker. This allowed him to enter The Abyss, the home of the Darkwraiths and the Four Kings themselves. At some unspecified time in the past, when Oolacile was attacked by the Abyss, Artorias traveled to Oolacile to rescue Princess Dusk of Oolacile.
Defeated by Manus and the Abyss, Artorias sacrificed his great shield to protect his loyal companion, a young Sif, from the myriad Humanity Sprites that littered the deepest reaches of Oolacile. With his left arm shattered following his confrontation with Manus, he had no use for the shield and chose to wield his greatsword in his one good hand. With time, Artorias became fully-corrupted by the Abyss (though, in hunting the corrupted denizens of Oolacile, it is clear he didn't wholly forget his mission). At some point after this, an unknown hero (The Chosen Undead) travelled back to the past and, in the process of relieving Oolacile of its corruption and rescuing Dusk, finally bested Artorias.
In doing so, The Chosen Undead preserved the lost knight's honour. Despite The Chosen Undead's feats, the saviour of Dusk and Oolacile would come to be attributed to Artorias. Rather than being corrupted by the Abyss like the rest of Oolacile, it was believed that he perished while facing the Abyss. Perhaps the only compatriot of Artorias that knew the truth was Sif, who in thanks for his rescue from the Abyss gifted The Chosen Undead Artorias' Cleansing Greatshield.
#MANUS FATHER OF THE ABYSS
Manus, Father of the Abyss is a final boss of the AotA expansion. While something of a demon in appearance when encountered by the player, Manus was in fact once human. He became the Father of the Abyss when his humanity went wild, but it is not known what caused this. According to both Marvelous Chester and Hawkeye Gough, an unidentified Primordial Serpent (whether it was Kaathe or Frampt is uncertain) urged the citizens of Oolacile to go delving in the dark of the Abyss, where they awoke this primordial man. Upon awakening, he became enraged and set to expand his domain while seeking out his precious Broken Pendant. The Abyss consumed the citizens of Oolacile, whose humanity went wild in turn, mutating them into ghastly creatures. With inhabitants maddened, Oolacile was left to fall to ruin. Nothing remains in present day to mark the passing of Oolacile, save Dusk.
When the player finds half of his pendant, Manus reaches out through time and space to reacquire it, taking the player to Oolacile in the process. He also takes Marvelous Chester in the same manner, who may have found the other half of the pendant in another time. While this pendant obviously held some deep meaning to Manus, it is unknown what, the answer long since lost to time.
#BLACK DRAGON KALAMEET
Kalameet appears for the first time while the player is traveling through the Royal Wood; he lands in a bridge and watches the player for a couple of seconds before flying away, similar to what the Red Wyvern does in Undead Burg. Kalameet can actually be targeted and hit while briefly perched on the bridge (such as by ranged weapons) but cannot be injured.
He is later encountered at the end of a valley going down from the Royal Forest. Going through the opposite way to where you fight Artorias the Abysswalker, you will find a very small stairway/path going down to the left of an elevator, with a body lying at the top of the trail. Follow the trail down as it curves around to the left and it will take you to the valley of the Royal Forest (the area underneath the small bridge with NPC Marvelous Chester standing at one end). There will be 2 dogs and a treasure to your left at the end of the valley, and turning to your right you will find 3 dogs and a very long ladder going down next to a waterfall, which leads to the place where you find Kalameet for the second time. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also descend the waterfall by falling down a series of rocks protruding from the water. (There is a Crystal Lizard on one of these rocks, the second from the top.)
