A playthrough of Ocean's 1991 license-based NES platforming game, Darkman.

Darkman - the NES game that lets you play as Liam Neesen as a mummy! If that thought excites you, stop reading: you've found your game!

I know people tend to hate on this game, but I really like it. It feels a lot like an Amiga game (and big surprise, it showed up on the Amiga, Spectrum, Amstrad and C64 PCs), with it's big and colorful graphics and Euro-styled synth music. The controls are pretty loose and can be frustrating, but the game keeps itself interesting by quickshotting the player with a ton of short levels and minigames, with the 22 levels mostly taking less than a minute each to finish once mastered.

It also reminds me a great deal of Robocop 2. The style of the graphics and sound are quite similar, and the slippery, floaty controls feel just the same. They were both developed by Paint by Numbers (also responsible for Hook on NES and Cool World on SNES), so the familiar, distinct feel of the games certainly makes sense.
