Darksiders first full playthrough (Warmastered Edition) - Week 2
2We're off to collect the remaining 2 hearts of the Chosen, at which point it will finally be time to scale the tower.
The trek to the third heart was rather unlike the others, and didn't feel much like a dungeon. It also involved arguably the most annoying midboss and boss fights so far, as the gameplay involved didn't seem terribly compelling - a lot of drawn-out kiting and holding 2 buttons on the controller at the right times to attack.
Fortunately the game returned to form for the fourth dungeon - which is the one in particular that I somewhat vaguely remembered from my first playthrough a decade ago. (Or at least, I remembered a lot of arachnids.)
The tower itself is yet another dungeon, which turns up the difficulty on puzzles a considerable bit. I appreciate the ideas, but some of these rooms took an annoyingly long time to clear.
The central room of the tower also marks the point where my first-ever unfinished playthrough a decade ago stopped, so we're squarely in never-before-seen territory for me from here on out, seemingly right as we're about to get to the bottom of this mess that War was unwittingly thrust into.
