In this Skul the Hero Slayer video, I'll be using Davy Jones with a Crit Item focused strategy! Davy Jones, oh how wrong I was about you. In my most recent skull tierlist video I put him in C tier, a disgusting error. Davy Jones is absolutely worth his Legendary status. He might be a bit rough around the edges, he has a very different flow of gameplay than most skulls you'll come across, but if you know how to build him he plays as smoothly as any other character. The name of the game with Davy Jones is, as it is with many characters, the Arachne Skill CD/Attack Speed shrine, though especially so with Davy. The more attack speed you have the faster he loads his canon balls, which also attack speed already inherently effects skill casting speed, so with Davy he scales his skill casting speed twice as much as other characters do off of this shrine. He can get to ridiculous levels of quickness with this, and if you add in Manatech 3 on top of it all he basically does it instantly. So, the major thing that makes Davy unappealing to many is dealt with instantly. After that it's just a matter of getting the hang of when and where to actually cast his skills, and that's just a matter of practice, and when you DO get the hang of it the payoff is super worthwhile. Aside from all of that, we'll be using Crit Items, which I believe doesn't need much introduction from me. That's today's idea, Davy Jones and Crit Items! Joined by Archlich, can this unlikely but potent duo show once again, Davy Jones is better than a C tier character?
