I like the quiet moments in Days Gone when all you hear is bird song, wind blowing through the trees and the crackling of distant thunder. As far as open world settings go, the Oregonian woodlands have a modest, understated beauty which provide a nice contrast to, for example, the overflowing Mediterranean vistas of Assassin's Creed Odyssey or the explosion of primary colors that is Far Cry New Dawn.

The third-person gameplay of Days Gone is not particularly interesting, but I continue to enjoy the great voice acting and detailed character animations which really make its run-of-the-mill post-apocalyptic story a lot more engaging than it probably has any right to be.
