OK, so this is version 3 of a Daytona USA 2 Vs Outrun 2 video I've made. The big difference here is that;

1) I'm now using the Japanese version of Outrun 2 on the Xbox. It's a lot more accurate to the arcade original version of Daytona 2. There are some significant differences between this version and the western version. The most obvious one's I can think of off the top of my head are the fact that;

□ The Outrun 2 Challenge course track now starts at the same location as the original Daytona one (in the EU and US versions for some reason it starts further back).

□ The bunki section when you leave the 'Advanced' Course to join the 'Expert' course is now covered so it looks more like the original Daytona 2 track (It's still a lot longer on the Outrun 2 version though).

□ The point where you start the 'Expert' track in the Outrun 2 version is now the same as Daytona 2. In the EU and US versions it started in a completely different part of the 'Expert' track which was much further back in the countryside area before you reached Vitrua City/New Joke City

□ There are probably more differences on top of these, but these are the immediately obvious things...

2) This video is in 60 frames-per-motherfucking-second! Well, at least 50% of it is. All the Daytona USA 2 Challenge course stuff is recorded using Supermodel emulator v0.3 (WIP) SVN 271 at 60 fps.Outrun 2 runs at 60 fps on the original Xbox as well, but I can only do video capture from an external source at 30 fps. The final overall combined video rendering is a 60 fps though and I think this definitely makes the Outrun 2 video look smoother and more 60 fps-like.

3) The CPU no 1, 2 ,3 and 4 cars in Daytona USA 2's Challenge course are complete and utter bastards. If I haven't managed to catch up to at least 5th place slightly after the the halfway point (near the ship with 'Biceps' on, leading to the tunnel) I just can not catch up to the leading cars. At this point the the leading AI cars are so rubber bandy, even a micro second of dropping speed will result in punishment as you suddenly see those fuckers speeding past you. I always seem to make some minor mistake in the last stretch which results in me losing out on 1st place (It's happened to me so many times it's...). The AI are equally just as rubber bandy in Outrun 2 but it doesn't seem to be such an issue for me on the Daytona track. The final section of the Scud Race track is another matter altogether though...

I've edited a little bit out of the two bunki sections in Outrun 2 to try and get the two games to reach the same areas in sync a bit more. However, Outrun 2 is actually faster than Daytona USA 2, so it will always keep getting a bit further ahead...

The Ferrari 288 GTO is always my car of choice for the Outrun 2 bonus stages. It's got very fast acceleration that lets you pull away from the rest of the CPU cars more quickly than most of the other cars I've tried, so it means you have less of those pricks cluttering up the course and getting in the way whilst you've making you've first couple of crucial powerslides.
