An example of 6 player single system networked play on Sega Model 2 emulator with Daytona USA (it's possible to link up to 8. I haven't tried it yet as I suspect performance would shudder a bit, especially with the added strain of video capture). As per usual Youtube has nerfed the video quality up a bit in places with weird artefacting. In the gameplay demos it's just me using one controller to steer all 6 cars, which is why they're driving all over the place like a bunch of drunken crazy people, but you can assign individual controllers to each player for proper multiplayer fun. Awesomeness! This was recorded with Hypercam which has messed the speed up slightly, making it appear a bit faster than it actually plays at, also for some reason the free version of Hypercam I use never records any audio, so I've added my own:
