I was trying to record a run with Serenade and one of the new DLC weapons, but something went wrong and Serenade split into both the weapon and pet forms at the same time.

Quick summary of how Serenade works: Activating it for the first time summons Serenade in pet mode where it'll attack enemies and put a red mark above their head. Reactivating Serenade changes it into sword mode and temporarily replaces your primary weapon with it. The sword crits against enemies with the red mark and applies blue marks with every hit. In pet form, Serenade will crit against enemies with blue marks.

So having both at the same time means you just chain crits off each other as the ultimate tag-team duo.
