After waiting so long, it is finally here! This vid is just the first hour of gameplay so I can give some thoughts on how I feel about it so far. Basically...it's Dead Island lol. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, I actually played WAY too many hours of both Dead Island and Riptide.

Crafting is back, but the thing I am mostly interested in seeing is how the skills work. I really hope the customization is deep, but so far, it seems promising enough. I really hope to see some cool weapon crafting. Pretty stoked to see what kind of builds I can make out of the skill cards you unlock to really kick some zombie ass.

Speaking of kicking zombie ass, the gore is definitely awesome so far. Can never have too much blood and guts in a game in my opinion. Combat is pretty much exactly how the first Dead Island was. It felt very familiar, and even after not having played a Dead Island game for such a long time, I was able to jump right back into this one. I really hope to see some cool combat skills open up as I keep playing.

One thing that I want to look into is the Alexa mechanic where you can call out to zombies and stuff like that. I don't use Alexa, so I hope you can do it through other means (like a headset). Seems like a fun mechanic to use, but if Alexa is the only way to use it, that seems pretty lame. Will have to research that a bit.

Enjoying it so far, and it put a smile on my face! I am a sucker for anything zombies, and was a huge fan of the first game (even though MAN was it packed with bugs). I still got a ton of enjoyment from it, and playing this has brought back the memories of the countless hours my friends and I played.

Last thought: I REALLY hope to see some weird weapons that are hidden like in the original (Left Hand of Glova was so much fun)! Hopefully there are a ton of secrets in this game that require some thinking to figure out. I wouldn't be surprised if there are though.
