This is just a very basic and incomplete comparison, I initially intended to do a proper one but I was unable to obtain identical (or at least similar) runs in order to collect objective frame-rate data from both systems.
I thought about discarding everything but since some of the videos were already done, here they are. They should be enough to give you a slight idea about the differences in performance.
Two interesting things that I noticed; some slight graphical differences and...identical loading times. The moment you hit "Continue" it takes the same amount of time on both systems to load the save (the video is not edited at that point). This is in big contrast with the "old" Dead Island where loading times took forever.

The blur you see in the beginning is not a video artefact, that's how the game looks at that point.
