Dead to Rights (GCN)
5Namco's Matrix inspired third person shooter.
Although Dead to Rights was released initially as exclusive to Microsoft's Xbox, it eventually saw release on Nintendo Gamecube and Sony Playstation 2. It is a John Woo inspired shooter featuring lots of slowmotion diving, akimbo pistols and OTT action pieces.
The game does implement some nice ideas aside from the gunplay too including a variety of reflex based puzzle minigames and the ability to use Jack's dog, Shadow, to sniff out bombs (but he can be used to rip apart enemies anyway).
That said unlike the unforgettable Kill.Switch though, Dead to Rights fails to really do any better than average in my mind. It feels a little unrefined with drab visuals and designs, repetitive gameplay and laughably bad voice acting. Give this one a try if you liked Max Payne or the recent Stranglehold however.
