Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (PS2)
What a way to do a reboot.
Ubisoft's reinvention of the original adventure classic is, in short, amazing. There are a number of reasons as to why Sands of Time became the spectacle series it enveloped into but literally the execution was almost flawless. It filled the adventure void that Tomb Raider failed to live up to (as with the disappointing Angel of Darkness), had some of the best designs and visual sparkle of any game at the time and the voice acting was some of the best of any 2003 release.
Though ofcourse it had a number of small gripes. The camera being one annoying portion of POP's redesign flaws yet the smooth animation and gameplay made up for this entirely. If you haven't experienced Sands of Time yet, or any of the subsequent Prince of Persia games, I highly recommend you hunt these gems down. They're not difficult to find and rumour has it they're experiencing another re-release on PS3 soon. Fingers crossed this is the case!
