Core Design's spiritual sequel to Streets of Rage.

Infact no, to say this is LIKE a 3D Streets of Rage is sort of an understatement. You'd be lying to yourself as well by saying Dr. Zeng, Hawk and Alana aren't similar to the Criminal Boss, Axel and Blaze respectively. Fighting Force does the job of impersonating Streets of Rage adequately enough, after all, Fighting Force was supposed to be Streets of Rage 4 originally on Sega Saturn. The Nintendo 64 version of Fighting Force doesn't suffer too many fatalities from being coverted from CD to Cartridge either.

Visually Fighting Force holds up with great textures, animations and definitely a lack of the typical N64 fog of doom but naturally features a lack of FMV sequences. The sound has also been replaced but I'd argue the music sounds closer to Yuzo Koshiro's work than the CD versions ever will. Play this one in two player in anycase and it is an absolute blast. Strangely though, Fighting Force is rather sought after and finding instances of it on eBay or Amazon can be daunting especially for prices under £10.

If you're a collector willing to get the game complete, have fun trying to haggle a price less than £15 too. Because of this reason alone, I find it hard not to recommend the Playstation Fighting Force (that sells for less than £5) otherwise.

Edit: It seems there are some syncing issues with the video. I'm not entirely sure why this is as the source footage is fine otherwise. In anycase, bare with it.
